How to restore 2FA?
You can restore access to two-factor authentication (2FA) either by using the authentication key or by disabling 2FA. You can disable 2FA yourself if your account is verified with online banking credentials.
Restoring access by disabling two-factor authentication
If, for example, you change your phone and do not have the authentication key saved, installing a new authenticator will not restore access to the account. However, it is possible to disable two-factor authentication.
If your account is verified with online banking credentials, you can disable 2FA as follows:
Mobile app
- Log in and go to Settings → Security Settings
- Select 'Disable with Bank ID'
- Confirm the removal of 2FA with your online banking credentials
- 2FA will be disabled.
Web version
- Log in, then click your email address at the top right of the page.
- From the dropdown menu, select "Account Settings."
- Scroll down to the Security section.
- Under "Two-Factor Authentication", click the "Disable" button.
- Select "Disable 2FA with Bank ID."
- Confirm the removal of 2FA using your online banking credentials.
If your account is not verified with online banking credentials, please contact customer service at info@coinmotion.com, and we will guide you on how to disable two-factor authentication.
Restoring access with an authentication key
If you have saved the authentication key provided during the set-up of two-factor authentication, you can restore access to the Authenticator app by opening the app and manually adding a new account using the authentication key.
In the Google Authenticator app, you can create a new account by tapping the + symbol at the bottom right of the app and selecting Enter a setup key.
